Aurora Housing Authority

The Aurora Housing Authority (AHA) was founded in the 1940's and charged with the mission of providing safe, decent and affordable housing for the people of the City of Aurora. With funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development the AHA provides housing for over 1,500 households through the Low Income Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher Programs. Through partnerships with local and regional non–profits the AHA also promotes educational achievement and self–sufficiency.

The Aurora Housing Authority, through its business activities, provides nearly $13 million dollars annually to local contractors, landlords and business owners and helps to support minority owned and operated business nationwide.

City of Aurora

Offically estabiliashed as Aurora in 1837 the city has steadily grown to become Illinois' second largest city. When the City was the first in the United States to use electric lights for publicly lighting the entire City, it achieved the nickname of "City of Lights".

Public Action to Deliver Shelter

Our mission is to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless and give people the chance to hope again.

PADS, dba Hesed House, is a national model for ending homelessness – one person, one family at a time. It is the culmination of nearly three decades of strategic evolution from a formerly acceptable model of "eats and sheets" to a Comprehensive Homeless Resource Center – a campus of centralized highly skilled professionals collaborating to provide the tools necessary to help individuals and families break free of the shackles binding them to homelessness.
